Airport Security Scare

Flights were delayed and the terminal evacuated on Tuesday as Whitsunday Coast Airport dealt with a security scare.

Less than 24 hours after the Premier of Queensland had left the very same terminal, at around 9.30am airport security was alerted to an unattended box in the garden outside the terminal and activated emergency procedure, contacting police, Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and the Queensland Ambulance Service.

Accident 'a matter of time'

Cannonvale parents say it's only a matter of time before a child dies at an intersection near the local state school.

The Shute Harbour Road and Island Drive intersection is the culprit and this week Cannonvale parents and residents took their concerns to Dutch traffic expert Rob Diverge.
